Twilight the Movie...

So I'll start out by saying that I LOVED the books! They were such a good fast easy read, and really entertaining. The love story was great, the action was great ( although Bella could get whinny at times) Over all I really enjoyed the series.

So when they were coming out with a movie I though hey it could be really good, right? When I saw who they cast as Edward I started to have my doubts, but then the trailers sucked me back in and I thought this movie could be really good! So me and a bunch of friends dragged our husbands and went and saw it last night. We stood in line for over an hour just to get in (the tickets here sold out a week in advance) and most of those in line were middle and high schoolers. Right then the husbands started to complain. (That's ok I've seen plenty of movies I'd prefer not to see so he can endure right?) Moving on, I myself was disappointed. I knew going in that it wouldn't be as good as the books, but it let me down even more. I thought the cast was good, but the visual effects and the directing of the movie were pretty awful! I felt like they tried to cram all the major highlights in the book into 2 hours and there was no real character development of Bella or Edward. Edward came off as creepy and awkward at first and in the books he was ALWAYS smooth and sexy, not just when he decided he couldn't live without her. So that which is the main plot of the story ruined it for me. The theatre sent me a survey to fill out, and of those who had filled it out all the comments raved about the movie and no they weren't just teenagers, most were older than me... so I don't know if I was just not in the mood, or just the odd one out, although I was able to sit by my sister and she had the same feelings as me, we were separated form our friends with the rush of giddy teens so I have yet to see how they felt about it. My take is if you haven't seen it, to me it wasn't worth the $10 plus treats you spend at the theatre, wait til it's on DVD...
